Message from the Principal

Warm greetings from Sikkim Govt. B.Ed. College, Soreng!

Nestled in the beautiful hills of the south-west part of Sikkim, our college welcomes all who aspire to enter into one of the most fulfilling professions and build their career as co-constructors of knowledge, collaborators in building human capacities and promoters of community well-being. We strongly believe in striving earnestly to help our students realize their potentials. We are sensitive towards the diversity that our students bring in to the classroom and endeavor in mentoring them drawing from a wide repertoire of activities, techniques and strategies and adapting them to their unique needs. In place of relying on conformity and compliance, we make sincere efforts in cultivating a relationship between teacher and students which is based on trust and respect in order to make quality learning possible for both.

As a community of learners, we are making efforts to improve our understanding about learners and learning process year by year so that we may be able to help achieve goal of teacher education as exhorted in NEP (2020) by ‘creating such stimulating learning environment where good human beings capable of rational thought and action, possessing compassion and empathy, courage and resilience, scientific temper and creative imagination, with sound ethical moorings and values may be produced for building an equitable, inclusive, and plural society.’
